2.0 / 2.1 SPEAKERS

2.0 speakers are the classic: two speakers, one for each channel. They're the foundation of any audio system and work great with EMOSON STUDIO. Unlike 1.0s, 2.0s can be passive (need an external amplifier) or active (built-in amp but no subwoofer), which gives you more flexibility in system design and component quality. You can also use 2.1 setups, which add a subwoofer to a pair of stereo speakers, creating 6.3 or 8.4 surround configurations.

The advantage of 2.0 is that they usually deliver better sound quality and more power. A mid-range pair of 2.0 speakers can produce surprisingly good sound for the price. And as for connectivity, just connect the aux input of each stereo pair to the corresponding sound card output. If needed, you can use 3.5mm male-to-male stereo extension cables to cover your entire space.

Why choose 2.0 / 2.1?

• Better sound quality and value for money in most cases.

• Greater variety of components: both active (built-in amp) and passive (external amp) options available.

• Available in compact desktop models and larger bookshelf sizes.

Considerations for EMOSON

• If you go active, make sure they have line-in or aux input (3.5mm). In this case, also check the cable length between speakers: it may limit how far apart you can place them. These units are sufficient for most EMOSON applications.

• If you go passive, you'll need an amplifier with enough channels or multiple amplifiers powering the appropriate pairs. This option is the most versatile in terms of quality choices, equipment variety, and system connectivity, but also the most complex to implement.

• For EMOSON, the ideal is 3 identical pairs (5.1) or 4 identical pairs (7.1).

• If mixing brands, try to match sensitivity and power so all speakers sound balanced.
