1.0 / 1.1 SPEAKERS

1.0 and 1.1 speakers are the simplest option for building a surround system. Each unit is a self-powered speaker, meaning it has a built-in amplifier. No external amp or powerful sound card needed: just plug each speaker into the corresponding output on your sound card and you're good to go.

What does 1.0 / 1.1 mean?

The 1.0 number refers to a speaker without subwoofer, while 1.1 includes a small passive subwoofer. Both types usually support Bluetooth, which is great for casual use, but for EMOSON STUDIO you need to connect them via cable (line-in or aux) to your multichannel sound card.

For connectivity, the idea is to split the stereo outputs from the sound card (using 3.5mm stereo male to 2× RCA converters) and then use RCA cables to carry the audio signal to each speaker. In this case you'll typically also need female RCA to 3.5mm stereo male adapters to use the aux input on the speakers.

• Arrange 3 pairs (for 5.1) or 4 pairs (for 7.1) in a circle around the listeners.

• Set all speakers to the same volume level (70-75% max).
